Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite Motherboard (Our Review)

Overall Assessment

Right from the start, we see that the X570 Aorus Elite is far more expensive than the popular and capable Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming board. Yet, it is also far cheaper than the Gigabyte X570 Gaming X.

It seems as if Gigabyte aimed to provide users with a mid-tier entry for the X570 chipset.

In this regard, the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite motherboard does not disappoint. It exceeds all of our overclocking expectations, comes with plenty of features, and some stylish looks to make it worth our money.

Supported Processors

The Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite motherboard is a master at unleashing your AMD Ryzen 5000 processor’s full potential. Benchmark tests have consistently shown how this motherboard kicks digital dust in the eyes of similarly priced boards.

With the popular AM4 socket type, this board supports the latest 3rd, 2nd, and even 1st generation Ryzen CPUs. This compatibility will help anyone running older AM4 Ryzen chips.

If you don’t like AMD processors, check out our review of the Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Elite. It’s a reliable motherboard running 9th and 8th generation Intel CPUs.

Memory

Nothing is small on this motherboard, and we can see it in the system RAM. The Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite offers users 128GB of RAM across 4x DDR4 memory channels. Gigabyte lets us overclock the memory to speeds of up to 4400MHz and beyond, which will be a pleaser with all the number-crunchers out there.

Peripherals

Even though it may be the best-priced X570 motherboard from Gigabyte, it still comes with a great range of expansion options and peripheral support.

Users can install storage devices across 6x SATA ports and 3x M.2 connectors.

There are 10x USB 3.2 ports with 8x USB 2.0 ports available through the onboard headers to connect your external devices. The number of USB ports on this motherboard makes building and connecting to your next rig a breeze.

The audio is equally incredible. Provided by the much-loved Realtek ALC1200 codec, we get 7.1 channels of crisp HD sound. The high-quality audio capacitors combined with Gigabyte’s Audio noise guard improves the quality of the already exceptional sound.

Graphics

If you want to use an AMD CPU with integrated VEGA graphics, video output is possible through one HDMI port. But you get the most out of this motherboard by installing external graphics cards.

Gigabyte provided 1x PCIe 4.0 x 16 and 1x PCIe 4.0 x 4 slots to install graphics cards and beef up your system.

Serious power users and gamers alike will love that this motherboard supports both AMD Quad-GPU CrossFire and 2-Way AMD CrossFire technologies. That’s great for unlocking even more graphic processing power.

Aesthetics

Gigabyte describes the X570 Aorus Elite as being inspired by a starless sky. This motherboard looks impressive in midnight black with the Aorus eagle standing out in vivid orange.

With 2x addressable RGB LED headers and another 2x RGB headers, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to customizing your new computer. We recommend using the RGB Fusion 2.0, which comes included, to customize the LED lighting further.

Conclusion

The Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite is worthy of being included in the spectacular Aorus range. This motherboard has exceptional overclocking ability. It helps that it comes jam-packed with features at a reasonable price.
