Overall Assessment

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite is surprisingly good for its price. On paper, it seems to have better performance than the Gigabyte B450 Aorus M motherboard

It offers PC builders features like Gaming LAN, a fantastic thermal guard, multi RGB zones, and hybrid fan headers.

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite even has some reasonable overclocking capabilities on AMD’s AM4 CPUs. However, overheating can become a problem.

If you’re determined to overclock, you may be better off with the Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite. It has a more reliable cooling system that’s ideal for overclocking.

Supported Processors

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite supports AMD Ryzen series 5,000 processors with the AM4 socket. It also supports 3rd, 2nd, and 1st generation Ryzen processors. This popular chipset strikes an outstanding balance between features and price.

Peripherals

Graphics

Users with integrated graphics chips will be happy to find a single DVI-D port and a 1x HDMI port.

The 1x PCIe x16 (Max bandwidth x16), 1x PCIe x16 (Max bandwidth x4), and the 2x PCIe x1 slots are more than enough to keep up with all your graphics cards.

The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite supports multi-graphics card technologies, such as AMD Quad-GPU CrossFire and 2-Way AMD CrossFire.

In our Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming K5 review, we saw that Gigabyte is fantastic at building heavy-duty graphics-driven motherboards.

Audio

While the Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite doesn’t have the latest audio codec on the market, it has most of your needs covered. An industry-standard Realtek audio chip with 7.1 audio channels provides the sound.

Aesthetics

The B450 Elite looks stylish in black and silver while sporting some familiar orange highlights. One of the best features of this motherboard is the RGB LED controls.

You can tweak and customize the looks of your motherboard through the bundled RGB Fusion software. There is 1x CPU cooler LED strip/RGB LED strip extension cable header, 1x RGB (RGBW) LED strip header, 2x digital LED strip headers, and 2x digital LED strip power select jumpers.

Conclusion

The Gigabyte Aorus B450 Elite is an excellent motherboard for budget gamers who want quality system features.

While it’s the cheapest B450 chipset motherboard, Gigabyte didn’t give us an ugly, empty shell. The Aorus B450 has a healthy amount of features and there’s a lot of care on show.

“The Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite is nice and has decent overclocking capabilities. My only complaint is the placement of the SATA ports. My full-sized graphics card blocks two of the SATA ports.”
