At first glance, the ASRock AB350M Pro4 motherboard seems to be a capable, sturdy little beast. With AMD’s AM4 processor support and 4x DDR4 memory modules, on paper at least, this motherboard appears to tick all the right boxes.

ASRock AB350M Pro4 Motherboard (Our Review)

Few budget-friendly, micro-ATX motherboards are released with all the right goodies and features. The ASRock AB350M Pro4 motherboard is one of them.

This B350 motherboard works incredibly with AMD Ryzen processors. With AMD’s Ryzen 5 2400G, integrated Radeon RX Vega graphics, budget gamers won’t need to buy an external graphics card.

Not only does this reduce the power draw of your rig, it also saves you a hefty wad of cash.

ASRock has ensured that the AB350M Pro4 motherboard is fitted with fantastic features. But they’ve kept manufacturing costs extremely low, which means an affordable board for their consumers.

Overall Assessment

Words like “budget-friendly” always set our alarm bells ringing. How did the manufacturer cut costs? What are we losing out on when choosing this motherboard?

ASRock is an established manufacturer more than capable of delivering high-end gaming motherboards as we saw in our ASRock Fatal1ty B450 Gaming K4 review

With years of experience, they developed the ASRock AB350M Pro4 to be a feature-rich, affordable motherboard.

Memory

The ASRock AB350M Pro4 motherboard has 4x DDR4 DIMM slots. Tech-savvy users can further overclock the RAM modules to speeds of up to 3200MHz and more. This motherboard has a maximum RAM capacity of 64GB.

With access to this much memory, you’ll be able to run most applications without feeling your PC slow down.

Peripherals

ASRock decided to include a wide variety of ports and connectors on the ASRock AB350M Pro4 motherboard. With 2x USB 2.0 and 1x USB-C (3.1), and 4x USB 3.0 ports, gamers have plenty of options available to connect external devices too.

There are also 2x PS/2 ports to help with backward compatibility, meaning gamers with an old-school keyboard and mouse won’t feel left out.

4x SATA3 6Gb/s ports and 2x M.2 connectors provide ample installation space for new storage drives. The SATA3 ports even support RAID and Hot Plug drives.

This board has standard Gigabit LAN managed by a capable Realtek RTL8111GR chip.

The ASRock AB350M Pro4 doesn’t come with integrated graphics – you’ll need an AMD APU for that. However, there are some graphics expansion options available.

Audio

As you would expect from a budget-friendly motherboard, the ASRock B350M Pro4 motherboard has standard audio. It relies on the Realtek ALC892 codec with its 3 audio ports and the quality it delivers is serviceable, if not remarkable.

Aesthetics

We assumed that for its low price, the ASRock AB350M Pro4 motherboard would be bland, without any eye candy. In this case, we’re happy to be wrong.

The ASRock AB350M Pro4 motherboard has one RGB header. Combining the neutral black finish on the motherboard with the RGB header leaves gamers with plenty of options to customize.
